My fitness journey started when I was growing up in Orkney. From a young age I played rugby and football, where I learned the importance of training and nutrition in achieving performance goals. Since then, fitness has been a massive part of my life, it has given me the tools to build both physical and mental resilience. I see no greater project in life, than working on yourself.


My main areas of expertise are fat loss and muscle building. As a teenager, I knew first-hand the feeling of being unhappy with the way I looked. It is from this experience that helped develop my passion for helping others in reaching their potential and generally improving their life.

What I Do

As a certified trainer, I offer a wide range of fitness services and training styles. With CR Coaching, we enforce a platform of training smart and sticking to recommended daily/weekly calorie intake to achieve your goals. Just remember 80% nutrition, 20% training. All clients in CR Coaching get introduced to the SMART training philosophy. (Smart Training, Maintenance of Daily Calorie Goals, Achieving Results, Recovery Phase, The Progressive Overload Theory).

Muscle Building

Muscle Building is a process that requires a lot of dedication and patience. Gaining lean muscle mass can happen in a deficit and maintenance phase, however a 200Kcal surplus is most optimal according to the scientific research. This along with the correct strategy of training. Again studies show the most optimal training philosophy should be training each muscle group at least 2x a week for maximal muscle growth. Protein is the only macronutrient that will be encouraged to be tracked in this or any process with CR Coaching.

Fat Loss & Muscle Gain

The unique program I’ve developed should not be seen as burning calories and instead seen as gaining strength and getting fitter. The executing calorie phase should be achieved within the diet. A calorie deficit will be required to achieve this results. It is as simple as this: if you are training and not in a calorie deficit, you will not lose weight. If you are training and in a calorie deficit, this is when weight loss will occur. In short, to lose weight, energy in must be lower than energy out. When we speak about calories, an 800Kcal pizza and an 800Kcal plate of chicken and rice, is the same amount of energy in, ultimately meaning the pizza will not make you 'fat'. With CR Coaching nutritional advice, you will still be able to incorporate all the foods you love.
